Carla McAuliffe

Carla McAuliffe is a doctoral student in the department of Learning and Instructional Technology at Arizona State University. She holds a B.S. in Cellular and Developmental Biology and an M.Ed. in Secondary Education from the University of Arizona. She has taught Earth Science and Biology at the junior high and high school levels as well as provided preservice and inservice teacher training. Carla worked as an instructional materials developer for an NSF-funded curriculum development project and co-authored a book of lessons for secondary school teachers and students. Her work has been published in the volumes, Discovering Image Processing, Discovering Geographic Information Systems, and HIP Biology. Carla's research interests focus on the instructional effectiveness of computer-based visualization tools including image processing, geographic information systems, and modeling software.
