Mark Nagasawa is a doctoral student in the Interdisciplinary Ph.D. program in Curriculum and Instruction at Arizona State University, with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. He has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Arizona and an M.S.W. from Arizona State University. Mark has been a preschool teacher, school social worker and program administrator in the Arizona Governor's Office for Children, Youth and Families. His research interests include the (dis)connections between educational policy and practice, culture and schooling, and decolonizing research methodologies. His current research focuses on parents', teachers' and policy makers' constructions of preschool, childhood and national identity within the context of current education reforms.
