Brandon A. Yabko is pursuing his doctorate in Counseling Psychology at Arizona State University. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from San Diego, CA, where he was involved in the Peer Abuse Prevention Program that used evidence based practices to teach middle school adolescence about bullying. As part of the program, Brandon was a research coordinator and helped undergraduate students conduct research and present at conferences. In addition, this project provided Brandon with research experience in bullying and interpersonal partner violence, specifically examining family violence and psychopathology as influential factors of peer aggression.

Currently Brandon is a research assistant for the NSF funded CareerWISE project, a web-based intervention program designed to help women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields persist in graduate school. In addition, he is a graduate assistant at the Counselor Training Center (CTC) at ASU. His research interests include adolescent behavior/psychopathology, family violence, bullying, interpersonal partner violence, depression, anxiety, program evaluation and developmental psychopathology.

As a counselor in training, Brandon is particularly interested in the adolescent and young adult population as he sees this group as a particularly challenging and rewarding group to work with.
